Services New Building Groups Forthcoming Events Minister's Letter Contacts Wakefield Methodist J & I School	The Church was formed in 1993 when Dewsbury Road, Wesley Hall and Westgate End Methodist Churches, all situated to the west of the city decided to come together. The premises at Westgate End were sold and Wesley Hall was demolished and the congregation met in the Dewsbury Road premises as a temporary measure. It was decided to sell part of the Wesley Hall site on Thornes Road and to build the new church on the rest of the site. Since the opening of the new building congregations have increased and the premises are being used by the community as well as the various church groups. Coffee is served after morning worship which provides time to get to know people. A singing/music group helps prepare for the service by presenting worship songs prior to the morning service. The Junior Church meets at the same time as the Morning Service and joins the congregation towards the end of the worship. The church has a close relationship with the Methodist Junior and Infant School and is represented on the Board of Governors. Some church members were invited to produce a wall hanging for the School entrance. (click here for details)
